What is genre? Genre is a form of classification for music. Genre separates one style of music from the other. For instance, rap and country are two types of genre. (insert quote from scholarly article). Fans create the need to change music because of the new popular ideas and genres. Thomas Rhett is one of the obvious boundary defining artists in country music. He has created a new style of country music that involves up beat tempos and a rap like flow of lyrics. What about him could've caused that? When asked about his childhood in a interview Rhett mentions growing up listening to a multitude of genres. This could've very easy created a blur in his music. His music includes beat drops, flow, and almost a sense of swagger.
